The Cloud Security Alliance (CSA) is the world’s leading organization dedicated to defining and raising awareness of best practices to help ensure a secure cloud computing environment. CSA harnesses the subject matter expertise of industry practitioners, associations, governments, and its corporate and individual members to offer cloud security-specific research, education, certification, events and products. CSA’s activities, knowledge and extensive network benefit the entire community impacted by cloud — from providers and customers, to governments, entrepreneurs and the assurance industry — and provide a forum through which diverse parties can work together to create and maintain a trusted cloud ecosystem.
CSA operates the most popular cloud security provider certification program, the CSA Security, Trust & Assurance Registry (STAR), a three-tiered provider assurance program of self-assessment, 3rd-party audit and continuous monitoring. CSA also manages the CSA Global Consulting Program, a professional program it developed that allows cloud users to work with a network of trusted security professionals and organizations that offer qualified professional services based on CSA best practices. By way of follow up, in 2015 together with (ISC)², CSA debuted the Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP) certification, representing the advanced skills required to secure the cloud.
In 2009, CSA released the Security Guidance for Critical Areas of Focus In Cloud Computing, providing a practical, actionable road map to managers wanting to adopt the cloud paradigm safely and securely. The following year, CSA launched the industry’s first cloud security user certification, the Certificate of Cloud Security Knowledge (CCSK), the benchmark for professional competency in cloud computing security, along with the Cloud Controls Matrix (CCM), the world’s only meta-framework of cloud-specific security controls mapped to leading standards, best practices and regulations.

Matt Nelson is a Solutions Architect for Optiv and is based in West Michigan. Matt has worked in a pre-sales technical consulting role for the past 6 years helping clients understand how identity and data directly related to the security, compliance, and efficiency of an organization.
Before that he worked in different IT roles for almost 20 years at companies like Amway, Whirlpool and Magna International. Matt spent a majority of that time working in the Active Directory, Server and Identity Management space and enjoys sharing his real-world experiences, successes, and challenges with others. Matt lives in Norton Shores with his wife and their kids ranging from 4 to 23 years old.

Lloyd Guyot III is a healthcare Information security consultant with over 12 years of experience in the field of IT. His current role is to facilitate organizational objectives and goals between the information security team and the business with emphasis on customer service.
Lloyd looks at security across various technology domains to build controls in up-front and move the business forward as efficiently as possible avoiding the traditional delays information security might introduce. This involves the knowledge transfer of not only technology infrastructure, but also risk, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
Lloyd’s background in endpoint and medical technology, enterprise project management, and proven leadership skills allow him to draw from a diverse set of experience when interfacing with the business and others.
Lloyd is a Grand Rapids, Michigan native who enjoys tinkering with various technologies including computer gaming, working on his Jeep, and spending time with his two daughters Emily and Jordan.

Adam Boynton is a System Engineer for Palo Alto Networks. Prior to working with Palo Alto Networks, he worked as a Senior Security and Infrastructure Manager for 17 years in both the private and public sector.
Adam’s career has given him exposure to everything from the desktop to the data center. He currently holds both the CISSP and CISM certifications. Adam resides in Grand Rapids with his Wife of 14 years and 3 children.

With roots in West Michigan, Aaron has over 25 years’ experience in IT Industry, and today is a Solutions Consultant for Dell Technologies. Working across multiple disciplines, including Infrastructure, Hybrid Cloud, Network Security, and Data Protection, he assists both commercial and public organizations to help them achieve their transformation goals while minimizing risk and optimizing security strategy.
Prior to Dell, Aaron has led teams responsible for Security infrastructure and processes to set strategy, meet regulatory compliance requirements and achieve operational security goals across a diverse range of organizations, including the United States Marine Corps, Non-profit Healthcare, Defense manufacturing, and Cloud Services providers. Aaron lives in Whitehall with his wife and 3 children.

Tom Bouathong is a security administrator with over 10 years within IT. His experience ranges from operational support in manufacturing to overseeing the entire security posture for a multi-billion dollar enterprise. Current focus is in the Identity and Access realm.
Working with various sizes of businesses, Tom has been able to assist many organizations achieve their security goals and objectives by utilizing new technologies, user training, and automation. Tom lives in the Zeeland area with wife and 4 kids.

Aaron has worked in Information Technology for 10 years as a web developer, scrum master and business analyst over the past 7 years in the Healthcare space. For the past three years, he has worked as an Information Security Analyst at Spectrum Health.
Aaron’s responsibilities include working directly with the non-IT business side to balance business initiatives with security requirements, as well as leading security projects that are strategically important to the organization.
